But you said you'd make crepes. [ naomi winces when she hears herself say the words, a quiet oh god, get a grip, sokolov crossing her thoughts before she kisses him quick on his jaw and pulls away to grab her shirt, which is balled up and wedged between the edge of the bed and the nightstand.
[ if she hadn't darted away so quickly, he would've said, i can make crepes later. as it is, he just falls backwards onto the bed with an exaggerated groan, hands covering his face. ]
