[Yancy doesn't really know when he made the decision to go drink his sorrows away literally, except that he just started walking once Raleigh turned his back on him and ended up in one of the bars near the Shatterdome and he claimed one of the stools and hasn't moved since. He's spent more time peeling the labels off his beer bottles than he has actually drinking the beer.
He has a split lip and the beer stings every time he takes a drink and he maybe deserves that.
Part of him wishes he was drunk. If he were drunk, he might go over there and hit on the blonde on the other side of the bar and the thought that being a flirt is what led him to being here in the first place, is maybe the only thing keeping him from doing that just that.
He almost ignores Raleigh all together. Even if he didn't see his brother come in, he felt it, like just proximity makes their heads connect, no pons necessary. Though he doesn't know some of the things that Raleigh's been thinking about him and that's probably a good thing. He already feels like shit, a comparison to their deadbeat dad is just going to make it worse because it's true in a way and he always promised himself he wasn't going to be like Dad. Wasn't going to let his family down like Dad did.
Yancy doesn't look at Raleigh though, just keeps on picking at the label on his beer bottle.]
